I鈥檓 work in our Retail department and am based in the West End. I specialise in lease consultancy work providing advice on retail and restaurant property throughout Greater London and the South East.
I act for landlords and tenants undertaking lease renewals, rent reviews and lease re-gears. I advise clients on all aspects of the lease event process from budgeting exercises to negotiation and settlement of cases. I鈥檓 an experienced expert witness in rent review disputes before arbitrators and independent experts and write expert reports for Court.
My occupier clients include WH Smith, Pizza Express, Azzurri Restaurants (ASK and Zizzi), Byron, Costa, Poundland, Timpson and Cotswold Outdoor. I act for landlords including Grosvenor, OLIM, GLH Hotelsand Englander Group and a number of private individuals.
Recent Projects
- Pizza Express, Gunwharf Quays 鈥� I dealt with a rent review on the premises acting for the Tenant which proceeded to arbitration. A rental increase from 拢87,348 pa to 拢105,145pa was awarded by the arbitrator, reflecting a saving of 拢189,275 pa over the five years to the next review on the landlord鈥檚 best offer. We were able to recover the entirety of the client鈥檚 costs in relation to the Arbitration from the landlord.
- Cotswold Outdoor, Piccadilly 鈥� I undertook the March 2017 rent review acting on behalf of the Tenant. I achieved a total rental saving of 拢107,875 over the five years to the next review for the client.
- Grosvenor Estate 鈥� I鈥檝e acted for Grosvenor for over nine years undertaking rent reviews and lease renewals across both its Belgravia and Mayfair Estates. I work closely with Grosvenor鈥檚 Asset Managers providing strategic advice to ensure the rental tone is maximised while simultaneously ensuring occupier relationships and the appropriate tenant mix are maintained.
